The Utah School Superintendents Association is proud to welcome five distinguished leaders to our organization. We look forward to the insight, experience, and leadership that Rob Smith, Randy Hunter, Lyndsay Huntsman, Dr. Molly Hart, and Wade Murdock will contribute in support of Utah’s public education system.
Rob Smith
Interim Superintendent, Alpine School District
Rob Smith currently serves as Interim Superintendent of Alpine School District, where he previously worked for over 21 years as Business Administrator. His extensive experience also includes similar roles in Morgan and Uintah School Districts. Rob brings private sector expertise from his time with Moreton & Company, where he focused on business development, and held various operational roles with Intermountain Healthcare. In addition, he served honorably for 21 years in the Utah National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve, retiring as a Major in 2008. Rob and his wife, Melissa, reside in Eagle Mountain and are the proud parents of three children and grandparents to five.
Randy Hunter
Superintendent, Millard School District
Randy Hunter brings over 25 years of educational experience to his new role as Superintendent of Millard School District. His diverse background includes positions as a special education teacher, co-teacher in English and science, physical education teacher, adaptive PE specialist, athletic coach, high school athletic director, assistant principal, and director of several district-level programs, including CTE, transportation, food services, and driver’s education. These varied roles have shaped Randy’s commitment to creating inclusive, safe, and supportive environments where students can thrive. He and his wife, Malesha, have four children and three grandchildren.
Lyndsay Huntsman
Superintendent, Park City School District
Originally from Georgia, Lyndsay Huntsman relocated to Utah after college and launched her career in education as a summer instructor for Upward Bound. Her passion for hands-on, student-centered learning grew during her time as a teaching assistant in Ogden High School’s Machinist Program. She later earned a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Southern Utah University. Over the past two decades, Lyndsay has served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and CTE Director across four Utah school districts. Known for fostering positive relationships and championing innovation, she is committed to building collaborative partnerships among educators, families, and communities. Lyndsay lives in Heber Valley with her two daughters, Rylann and Rowyn.
Dr. Molly Hart
Utah State Superintendent of Public Instruction
Dr. Molly Hart has served in education for more than 25 years in roles ranging from substitute teacher to principal, executive director, and elected board member. After being elected to the Utah State Board of Education in 2020 and re-elected in 2024, she was recently appointed as Utah’s Superintendent of Public Instruction. Dr. Hart holds degrees in family community services, elementary and middle grades education, and earned her doctorate in educational leadership from Valdosta State University. Her dedication to education and community service has earned her numerous accolades, including the Utah PTA Outstanding School Administrator Award. She and her husband, Robert, are the parents of two college-aged children. Dr. Hart enjoys quilting, reading, golfing, and live music.
Wade Murdock
Superintendent, North Summit School District
Wade Murdock began his career teaching biology and health at Wendover High School before moving to Morgan Middle School as a science teacher and counselor. Since 2003, he has held administrative roles in both Morgan and North Summit School Districts, including assistant principal, CTE director, and principal at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. His broad experience across multiple educational settings has deepened his understanding of the system and enhanced his leadership approach. Wade and his wife, Merilee, have four children, a son-in-law, and a daughter-in-law.
