As we begin the 2025–2026 school year, the Utah School Superintendents Association (USSA) wants to welcome you back to school. This is a time of energy, optimism, and renewed commitment to helping Utah’s schools thrive in every corner of the state.
To our students: We are so excited to welcome you back to school. Whether you are just starting school, entering your final year, or somewhere in between, this year is a chance to grow, learn, and shine. You are at the center of everything we do, and we believe in your potential. Your goals matter, your dreams are important, and we are here to help you succeed.
To our educators: Thank you for your deep commitment to Utah’s children. You continue to show up for students with care, creativity, and purpose. Your voices and experiences are shaping real improvements in our schools—from expanding access to full-day kindergarten and strengthening early literacy, to increasing math performance, and providing more real-world experiences for all students.
To our parents and families: Thank you for being your child’s first and most important teacher. We are grateful for your partnership. Schools are stronger when families are engaged, and we encourage you to connect with your local educators, stay involved, and continue to be advocates for your children and your communities. Your voice is vital.
To our education partners: We recognize the essential role you play in supporting Utah’s students and schools. Whether you are part of a state agency, higher education institution, nonprofit organization, business, or community group, your collaboration, resources, and expertise help expand opportunities and improve outcomes for children across the state. Thank you for standing with us on this shared mission.
Like many of you, we have experienced firsthand the life-changing impact of a strong education. We know what it can mean for a student, a family, and a future. That’s why we remain committed to ensuring every child in Utah—no matter where they live—has access to an excellent education and the opportunity to succeed.
As this new year begins, know that your leadership matters, your work is appreciated, and your efforts are helping shape Utah’s future.
