
We are beginning our USBA Spring Regional Meetings this week. Over the next 3 weeks, USBA officers will be hosting 12 regional meetings throughout the state. During each meeting officers will provide updates on the legislative session & seeking feedback from participants.

For this week’s #MeetTheSuperintendentMonday, we’re thrilled to introduce Piper Riddle, Executive Director of Northeastern Utah Educational Services. Piper was raised in Boise, Idaho. Piper Riddle has a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Boise State University, a Master's degree in Mathematics Education from Southern Utah University, and an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction degree from Utah State University. She has worked in public education as a teacher, instructional coach, and administrator for over 20 years, and is delighted with the great work for student achievement and success that is taking place in public schools.
One of her favorite quotes is “One of the criticisms I’ve faced over the years is that I’m not aggressive enough or assertive enough, or maybe somehow, because I’m empathetic, it means I’m weak. I totally rebel against that. I refuse to believe that you cannot be both compassionate and strong.”

For this week’s #MeetTheSuperintendentMonday, we’re thrilled to introduce Steve Carlsen, Superintendent of Box Elder School District. Superintendent Carlsen was raised in Paris, Idaho. Superintendent Carlsen attended BYU for his Bachelor’s Degree and Idaho State University for his Master’s Degree. Prior to being named Superintendent of Box Elder School district, Superintendent Carlsen served as a superintendent of Carbon School District and North Summit School District.
Superintendent Carlsen’s favorite quote is “Great Souls Have Wills, Feeble One Have Only Wishes.” His favorite book is No Ordinary Time by Doris Kearns Goodwin.

For this week’s #MeetTheSuperintendentMonday, we’re thrilled to introduce Dr. Mike McFalls, Superintendent of Grand County School District. Superintendent McFalls was raised in Seguin, Texas. Superintendent McFalls attended Lamar University and Texas State to receive his higher education. Superintendent McFalls has served as a superintendent of Custer County School District in Colorado and as a principal of elementary, middle and high schools in Texas.
Superintendent McFalls’ favorite quote is “Attitude is Altitude.” wise words from Nick Vujicic. His favorite book is Bubba the Cowboy Prince by Helen Ketteman.
